Rebecca Fraser.

Rebecca Fraser is our project lead. She was born and brought up in Sandyhills and currently lives in Tollcross. She trained at Edinburgh College of Art as a print maker but since 2012 has been working back home in the Eastend. She is a freelance community artist based in Parkhead Schoolhouse and is part of a collective of local charities called the ‘Parkhead Alliance’. She collaborates with the Alliance on partnership projects working holistically to improve the local area. She works closely with Parkhead Housing Association and currently hosts the‘Baby Breakfast Club’ for Parkhead mums and their babies. This is a specially curated weekly art group which supports parents to have quality interactions with their babies and toddlers through high-quality art experiences. She is also funded by the council’s Area Partnership fund to deliver‘The Art Club’for adults in the Eastend. She is well linked with local community organisations and charities as well as statutory organisations such as the NHS Health Improvement Team based in Shettleston.

Ashleigh Shula.

Ashleigh Shula lives in the Eastend and runs her own photography business when she’s not working for a local charity. She also co-facilitates community workshops with Rebecca, including the Baby Breakfast Club and The Art Club. Ashleigh uses photography to empower individuals and groups to express themselves and explore their identities and surroundings.

Joanne Macdonald.

Joanne Macdonald joined the project while studying English Literature and Public Policy at the University of Glasgow. She is now a social worker and is passionate about using creative storytelling to engage with community.

Luke Wilson.

Luke Wilson grew up on the Isle of Lewis but now lives in the Eastend as a freelance filmmaker. He has made a number of short films about the Today Museum and assists with the updating of our online archive and website.

As well as these familiar faces, we are often joined by guest artists, including local actors, dancers, writers and musicians.
